An early gift

While this little man may appear to be your average newborn hanging out in daddy's arms, he is actually 3 months old. This healthy preemie came a surprising 2 months early weighing in at only 4 pounds. He has adjusted to life outside the womb very well and has proven to be the most precious gift to his family. Thank you Matthew for being such a good little subject today.

Bonus PR in the neighbornood

I woke up this morning at 6 am to crowds of people walking past our house looking for good deals at the annual Terrace Block sale. For those of you that have been following my blog, you know we just moved to the historic Fresno High area last month. Our new neighborhood has block sales all spring with Terrace being the biggest and most anticipated block.

After 2 hours of rummaging through my new neighbors unwanted possessions, I decided to take advantage of the extra foot traffic going past our house and set up a display of my art. This last minute effort to let the community know about my photography was quite the unexpected success. The oohs and ahhs as pedestrians passed by my display of baby photographs, many of them complimenting my talent and expressing interest in my services.

I had a chance to meet many of my neighbors, catch up with past clients and even had future clients stop by and introduce them selfs. I was both exhausted and delighted after a day of speaking with hundreds of interested parents and grandparents. Thank you everyone for making my efforts today worthwhile.

New teeth, big wind, tired baby, oh my!

I never leave without getting star images from my tiny subjects, and this very windy day was no exception. Miss Dru really hung in there with us while going through an unexpected teething episode. While she was not fussy during the session, she seemed a bit indifferent due what we think is a cutting tooth. Nonetheless, the images we were able to capture are so precious. I also stayed a bit longer with this session just to get some wonderful sleepy images. Take a look at this sweet face!

Not so newborn. Baby Photography in Fresno and Clovis

I so enjoy my sleepy newborn photographs, but take a look at this very sleepy 6 month old! Just when I thought our session was over, I decided to stay a bit longer while this young lady fell asleep. I am so glad I did, as we were rewarded with these wonderful images of miss Aryana in the basket.

And how can you resist those long thick eyelashes and big round cheeks? I must admit, I have a weak spot for great eyelashes.

The importance of scheduling in advance!

I take my time with each and every session I photograph, enjoying the time we spend together and striving to produce the highest quality images you can possibly get. Because of the immense time spent both during our session and in post production, I can only handle 2-3 sessions a week.

I am in record demand these days, causing wait times to be longer and longer. Each colorful happy face on my calender above represents a session. With 5 sessions this upcoming week alone, and a whopping 20 sessions this month, I am well over my capacity...

Yet, I continue to receive calls and emails every day from people wanting me to "squeeze" them in next week. I hate to turn parents away, but as my demand grows, it gets more and more difficult to schedule everyone exactly when they want it. This points at the importance of scheduling your session in advance, at least 4-6 weeks.

For all of you that do have forethought of booking me ahead of time, I cannot thank you enough. I know there is always that unexpected newborn that comes early, for babies under 10 days old, please do not hesitate to call right away, I will always try to fit you in, no matter how busy I may be.

Thank you to everyone in the community that values my talent and art, it is a blessing in my life and I so enjoy sharing it with all of you! My business has grown by leaps and bounds because of you!

grass stained knees and dirty feet...

I must admit, it is a rare occasion these days when I photograph children over 4 years old that do not have a baby sibling. This is because I have my hands full photographing all the newborns and pregnant mommies that I hardly have time for anyone else. These two were a special exception.

I was reminded today during this session that each age has their own challenges and rewards. These brothers, just turned 7 & 5 a month ago, are active boys that have picked up on the typical "cheezzzy grin" that I so try to avoid in older children. It took a playful mom that was willing to be silly to get the natural smiles flowing from these two... thanks mom, it was worth it!

Almost 10 pounds!

Each session never ceases to amaze me, and this one was no exception...

This sleepy 8 day old chunk was nearly 10 pounds at birth to my surprise, and what a wonderful baby he was for his big day of photographs! And what a day to celebrate when 2 year old big sister not only cooperates for such a precious image, but is excited to do so?! (Especially after photographing her on two other occasions in the last 7 months without such enthusiasm for the camera.) I am sure mom will agree, this is one for the record books.

An 'Ocean' of love for this little girl

I had the privilege to photograph this precious baby while she was still in the womb, and it was during that session that Mom and I found out that we had several common friends. I was so excited to meet miss Oceana, and after what seems like a long long wait, she is here and even more beautiful than I imagined.

Family-O-Fun. Fresno Family and Child photography

Q: What do you get when you cross a wacky dad who will do anything to get a laugh, an observant 4 month old, an active 18 month old, a 3 year old with her OWN ideas, and a mother who adores the whole bunch?

A: A laugh filled afternoon with the "Family-O-Fun" full of wonderful candid photographs. Thanks for a great day everyone!

A daddy in love

I so enjoyed watching how this new Daddy looked at his 11 day old daughter. He was so proud of both mommy and baby, and was so sweet and gentle with them. Congratulations on your beautiful little girl!

Happy Birthday Sean!

Almost a year has passed since I first met this family. During these past 4 sessions we had together, Sean went from a beautiful bald baby to a toddler with curly blond locks. His big personality and bright eyes have never ceased to amaze me. Thanks for a wonderful year!

Here is a year in review over the past four sessions together.

Appreciation

I generally keep my text brief, but today I seem to be full of words. After the session this afternoon I began to reflect... What a blessed life I live. I know I have mentioned a few times already about how lucky I am to have this "talent" of photography, but more and more frequently I am getting present to the true gift it is in my life. Being invited into homes to capture a brand new being, I get to share in their joy and create wonderful memories of their quickly growing baby that they might not otherwise have. It's a real privilege.

I am also truly enjoying the new office space I have in the 1926 bungalow we just moved into. The dark hardwood floors, plaster walls and old picture rails all add to the history and charm of this house that I so love being around. It is located in the Fresno High area, and if any of you know the location you may be familiar with the train that passes by... during the day and all hours of the night the train chugs its way within 2 blocks of our house, all the while blowing its horn through my entire neighborhood. It was quite distracting at first, and even woke me up a few times, but now I smile as it "screams" its way through the area, adding once again to that unexpected bit of character this neighborhood offers. What happy energy this house has, its a wonderful place to spend my days.

Having a great husband, a new home, and a career that will allow me to be a stay at home mother, I am all set up for adding a new life to our family. Motherhood is the biggest dream I have yet to experience for myself. Perhaps that is why I am so captivated by babies... hoping that one day, soon, I too will have the chance to adore my own little bundle. I am keeping the prayers alive.

Thank you all for the trust, confidence, and acknowledgments you extend to me on a daily basis... it IS appreciated.

9 day old charmer. Lemoore Baby Photographer

A funny coincidence... Yesterday's little angel was born on he same day as todays, and the families live about a mile apart. After observing all their similarities and a series of questions, we soon discovered that not only were the babies born in the same hospital less than an hour apart, but the Daddies are good friends! How fun that each family, independently of one another, called me in to photograph their new arrivals without ever telling the other. What are the chances?

I had a great time with this family who were real sports in letting me try some new things with their little bundle. What proud parents they are! (Mike, thanks again for making my tummy happy, it paid off!)

I just love looking at the image below, what a beautiful and classic newborn smile, it just melts my heart.

Welcome to the world Tommy.

A happy little bundle. Newborn Photography Lemoore

Today I had the pleasure to capture an 8 day old angel. What a beautiful baby full of smiles and so so sleepy. Look how precious that squishy little face is!

A wonderful Saturday in Santa Cruz

This is the third time I have photographed this cutie girl. She is nine months old and has been walking for a month now, to my amazement. She is one social baby, just how I like them... I was able to get so many happy baby photographs. This one below was a special treat, a moment that daddy and daughter should cherish for years.

This week I have two brand new babies to photograph and am looking forward to both of them. Stay tuned!

2 beautiful sisters

Today I had the opportunity to make new friends at another one of my sessions. I spent the day with 3 beautiful ladies... mom, 3 year old big sister, and almost 2 month old little sister. We played, talked, ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and took pictures of the girl's "life" in action. With the family living in the same neighborhood I just moved to, I know we will be seeing each other again and again.

Mom, its going to be hard to choose which photographs to print... they are all so wonderful that I am even having a hard time narrowing them down! Here are some of my initial favorites from our day together, I got carried away, I know... but they are all so precious. Enjoy
