Her first year of life. Fresno Baby Photographer

Here is yet another repeat subject. I first met Miss Madison when she was still in the womb, a mere 6 days before her birth. I then photographed her 4 more times in this last year. She sure has grown, while still keeping that sweet face of hers. It has been a wonderful year with you Maddy!

Here is her year in review at 7 months, 3 months, 9 days and in the womb.

Blue Eyed Angel. Creative Baby Photographer Fresno

This was not the first time I have photographed this sweet 7 month old, she was a tiny newborn when she made her introduction in front of my camera. This time she is sitting up, full of personality. That tongue of hers could not stay inside her mouth. Take a look!

Here she is at only 12 days old, what dark hair she had!

Splish Splash I was Taking a Bath...

Another adorable photo shoot with little ladybug. (You may recognize her previously as the sleeping baby in the field from my March 6th blog post.) Mommy has childhood memories of her taking a bath in a metal tub outside, and wanted to capture those same backyard memories for her daughter. I think we got it!

Oops, splashed a little too much!
I thought I would share this fun out take with you.

Sisters

I am back from my very smoky Yosemite break (from all these fires here in California) and off to work again. Before I left I had the opportunity to photograph these two sisters. They really made me work for their images, and it was worth every second as we captured some wonderfully playful portraits of the two of them.

3 days of rest...

Reflecting over the last few weeks I realized I have had the honor to photograph a myriad of babies of all different ages, shapes, sizes and tones. I love the beautiful variety of clients that find me!

I am finally taking a much needed break this weekend and going camping in Yosemite with a large group of friends. We have planned this trip for 3 months now, and some of us will be hiking half dome, but I wont be one of them... I will enjoy nature while staying firmly planted in Yosemite Valley.

Thank you to all of you that continue to be patient while I get to your galleries and orders. I will be back at work early Monday morning.

Full Circle. Newborn Photography Hanford

This is the new arrival from a wonderful couple I photographed in April. Together we were able to capture so many outstanding photographs of little Matthew. He cooperated better than any 2 week old baby I have photographed. Look at that sweet face and great eye contact!

An Active Little Man

Mom warned me that her 11 month old has been walking since he was 8 months! He is no longer walking, but running circles around everyone. His bright eyes and warm smile melted my heart.

My Oh My, how fast they grow!

You may recognize this big boy's newborn photograph below when he made his first debut in January. Now look at him, as proud as ever at 5 months old.

It was through this baby's newborn session that I fell in love with the "Historic Fresno High" area, which prompted our recent move. Now my husband and I not only have this family as new neighbors, but great friends as well. They even made it to our party last weekend. This means I get to watch baby Noah grow every few months with my camera, as well as seeing him more regularly on neighborhood walks and dinners.

Thanks Grandpa for giving the gift of photography to Noah for his first year of life, if it was not for you, I would not have such wonderful new friends, and probably would not have found our new home.

A Special Treat. Baby Photography Fresno

Today I had a wonderful afternoon with Baby Conner and his family. He was a surprisingly sleepy little boy at 9 weeks old... I am not usually able to capture these "newborn" looking images of babies this old, so Conner was a real treat!

I could just stare at this first image all day, what a special bond this Father and Son have. Conner even has Daddy's smile.

A wonderful evening of joyful celebration

On a more personal note... my husband and I spent the last 3 days preparing for our long awaited house warming celebration that we hosted last night. It was a colorful and exciting evening of culture, fellowship, food and the most beautiful mixture of vocal and instrumental music. Guests participated in the 2+ hour long African Drum Circle adding to the percussion frenzy and dynamic dancing in our backyard.

Friends left with an uplifted spirit and requests for another opportunity to join together in musical merrymaking. Multicultural gatherings, such as this, is one of the great blessings of marrying a man from halfway around the world.

I look forward to the next time our new and old musical friends can once again gather together for another uplifting day of fun. Thank you everyone who contributed to yesterday's event, it went well beyond my expectations and dreams.

I briefly picked up my camera to capture a few moments from our magical night, ENJOY.

Below is my beloved husband starting off his percussion debut on the tambourine... (he later moved on to more exciting instruments)

Finally, Happy Father's Day to all you wonderful Daddies! Now that we have cleaned up, I am going to go lie down and recover from the festivities.

Sweet Mommy. Beautiful Maternity Photography Fresno

This precious Mommy is expecting her second son which I get to meet in August! I had great fun pulling out all my tricks to get an active 4 year old interested in taking photographs with Mommy, and it was worth it, we captured some wonderful images!

There is something so sweet about the photograph below, window light creates some of the most beautiful highlights and shadows adding to this wonderful moment.

Unborn

It has been a little while since I have done a maternity session, and this mother-to-be was a wonderful subject. She was easy going, a natural in front of the camera, and has a beautiful belly. What more can I ask for? I now await for the moment I get to meet little Logan. Stay tuned...

The baby girl I have been waiting for. Artistic Baby Photography Fresno

This little darling melted my heart with that sweet smile stretching from ear to ear, a contagious giggle, and that beautiful twinkle in her eyes. She was an enthusiastic baby making her a real pleasure to photograph!

Boys, boys, boys...

I just noticed I have had a little string of baby boys for the last week or so that I have been photographing. Tomorrow is my first girl in two weeks.

I have also had the honor to photograph 4 Navy families in the last month. These "high flying" Daddies are all away on the boats serving our country. Thank you all for your sacrifice.

What a cute photograph of brotherhood. This big brother was so helpful and wonderful to work with, you were great Jacob! I know Mom is going to love this one.

Getting big!

Here is yet another little man I have had the joy of watching grow. I first met him 4 sessions ago when he was in the womb. He gets more and more handsome each time I see him.

A beautiful family! Child Photographer Fresno & Clovis

How lucky I was to photograph this one of a kind family yesterday. They were such a delight, I could not have asked for better subjects. I cant wait to photograph them at the beach this summer!

4 months of wisdom

This beautiful blue eyed boy gave me a myriad of wonderful expressions. Some of the most fascinating expressions were the ones where he almost seemed to peer into my soul. He has some wisdom behind those eyes.

Thanks mom for being so enthusiastic, I had a great time with you and look forward to having you in my future class I will be offering on "How to capture your children's memories".

An early gift

While this little man may appear to be your average newborn hanging out in daddy's arms, he is actually 3 months old. This healthy preemie came a surprising 2 months early weighing in at only 4 pounds. He has adjusted to life outside the womb very well and has proven to be the most precious gift to his family. Thank you Matthew for being such a good little subject today.

Bonus PR in the neighbornood

I woke up this morning at 6 am to crowds of people walking past our house looking for good deals at the annual Terrace Block sale. For those of you that have been following my blog, you know we just moved to the historic Fresno High area last month. Our new neighborhood has block sales all spring with Terrace being the biggest and most anticipated block.

After 2 hours of rummaging through my new neighbors unwanted possessions, I decided to take advantage of the extra foot traffic going past our house and set up a display of my art. This last minute effort to let the community know about my photography was quite the unexpected success. The oohs and ahhs as pedestrians passed by my display of baby photographs, many of them complimenting my talent and expressing interest in my services.

I had a chance to meet many of my neighbors, catch up with past clients and even had future clients stop by and introduce them selfs. I was both exhausted and delighted after a day of speaking with hundreds of interested parents and grandparents. Thank you everyone for making my efforts today worthwhile.

New teeth, big wind, tired baby, oh my!

I never leave without getting star images from my tiny subjects, and this very windy day was no exception. Miss Dru really hung in there with us while going through an unexpected teething episode. While she was not fussy during the session, she seemed a bit indifferent due what we think is a cutting tooth. Nonetheless, the images we were able to capture are so precious. I also stayed a bit longer with this session just to get some wonderful sleepy images. Take a look at this sweet face!

Not so newborn. Baby Photography in Fresno and Clovis

I so enjoy my sleepy newborn photographs, but take a look at this very sleepy 6 month old! Just when I thought our session was over, I decided to stay a bit longer while this young lady fell asleep. I am so glad I did, as we were rewarded with these wonderful images of miss Aryana in the basket.

And how can you resist those long thick eyelashes and big round cheeks? I must admit, I have a weak spot for great eyelashes.

The importance of scheduling in advance!

I take my time with each and every session I photograph, enjoying the time we spend together and striving to produce the highest quality images you can possibly get. Because of the immense time spent both during our session and in post production, I can only handle 2-3 sessions a week.

I am in record demand these days, causing wait times to be longer and longer. Each colorful happy face on my calender above represents a session. With 5 sessions this upcoming week alone, and a whopping 20 sessions this month, I am well over my capacity...

Yet, I continue to receive calls and emails every day from people wanting me to "squeeze" them in next week. I hate to turn parents away, but as my demand grows, it gets more and more difficult to schedule everyone exactly when they want it. This points at the importance of scheduling your session in advance, at least 4-6 weeks.

For all of you that do have forethought of booking me ahead of time, I cannot thank you enough. I know there is always that unexpected newborn that comes early, for babies under 10 days old, please do not hesitate to call right away, I will always try to fit you in, no matter how busy I may be.

Thank you to everyone in the community that values my talent and art, it is a blessing in my life and I so enjoy sharing it with all of you! My business has grown by leaps and bounds because of you!

grass stained knees and dirty feet...

I must admit, it is a rare occasion these days when I photograph children over 4 years old that do not have a baby sibling. This is because I have my hands full photographing all the newborns and pregnant mommies that I hardly have time for anyone else. These two were a special exception.

I was reminded today during this session that each age has their own challenges and rewards. These brothers, just turned 7 & 5 a month ago, are active boys that have picked up on the typical "cheezzzy grin" that I so try to avoid in older children. It took a playful mom that was willing to be silly to get the natural smiles flowing from these two... thanks mom, it was worth it!

Almost 10 pounds!

Each session never ceases to amaze me, and this one was no exception...

This sleepy 8 day old chunk was nearly 10 pounds at birth to my surprise, and what a wonderful baby he was for his big day of photographs! And what a day to celebrate when 2 year old big sister not only cooperates for such a precious image, but is excited to do so?! (Especially after photographing her on two other occasions in the last 7 months without such enthusiasm for the camera.) I am sure mom will agree, this is one for the record books.
